Heck, I even feel sorry for your dog.

MLM (Multi Level Marketing) companies make very good use of live training events. They have recruiting meetings on a weekly basis in towns across the world. The secret to rapid success in MLM is to take action and to have a good mentor. Now, everyone is trying to get the attention of the movers and shakers in their upline. These Big Guns are bombarded by people who want their help but aren't willing to do anything for themselves. They have a very hard time, at the onset, to distinguish between the doers and the wannabes.

If you take action, you'll get the attention of all the Big Rollers in your upline and in the company. They'll be watching you very closely at the event. They want to see if you're that one-in-a-hundred type of person who'll follow instructions to the letter and expode onto the MLM scene and take the business by storm. They need one person like that in every one of their MLM downlines (legs).

You'll get the attention of the real movers and shakers throughout the company because, when they (these movers and shakers) reach a certain level (in the compensation plan) they start receiving overrides from sales generated within the entire organization! They want to help you generate sales no matter who's leg you're in!

At these events they actively look for people who'll take the bull-by-the-horns and generate sales. Of course, you realize that I can show you how to get their attention...But you're responsible for deserving it and keeping it.

3.    You Own Your Business (or are starting one).   You Need To Keep On The Leading Edge Of Knowledge In Your Field.

This one is the most critical.  You've invested a lot of time and money.  Maybe you own a Franchise or Business Opportunity, or you're starting (or thinking about starting) your own business from scratch...you need more than the training the company provides.  You need more training than you can get in books and audio tapes.  You need to be knowledgeable of what's happening in your field and have relationships with those who are making it happen...but, your money is limited.

Lack of knowledge can put you out of business in a heart beat.  Ill spent money can knock you out of the game just as fast.

You know you need live training seminars...you just don't know how to determine which ones.  You better do your homework before you ever leave home to attend the seminar...after all, it's your money and your business that's on the line.

My good friend and JV (Joint Venture) partner, Joel Christopher, has distilled his reasons for attending these live events down to a four letter acronym..."CIAM".  I kid Joel that he came up with four in order to beat the 3 (CIA) that I came up with.

According to Joel, and I agree, here are four very concise reasons for attending Live Training Events...

  1. C ompression...Live seminars can take and compress a year or two of knowledge into a 1 to 3 day period.  All the fluff is left off...you only get the true knowledge.
  2. Imersion...you are immersed into the body of knowledge.  This is especially true of the hands-on Workshop model.  For the entire period of the event, everything you see, hear, feel and do will be related to the topic at hand.  This is the way knowledge is shared in the very highly technical and medical fields.   I guess I'd call it "Focused Learning".
  3. Association...the networking that takes place at live events.  The networking is really the Seminar within a Seminar.  You meet with people in the hallways, at lunch, in the lounge, in the lobby.  at these events, wherever and whenever it's possible, small groups are meeting and talking, setting up business deals, arranging business relationships.  At these events you're a part of this synergistic event.
  4. Mastermind...the really smart attendees migrate to a core group of like minded people who are at a similar level, (and above) with similar goals.  Among the 100's of people there, you form a Mastermind group with 3, 4, 5 of them.  It's even possible to get some of the speakers with similar goals to be part of the Mastermind group.  Now, this might not happen at your first seminar...but, if you follow these 31 Insider Seminar Secrets you'll impress enough of them that slowly but surely they'll include you in their Mastermind groups.  Over the past couple of years this has happened to Joel and I...It continues to happen to us and we slowly add to it.

    Many of these people will become, not only business partners, but valued, lifelong friends.

Be careful who you include in your Mastermind group.  The purpose of this group is for a long term, mutually beneficial relationship.  Each member should add to and build up the group.  A whiner, complainer, selfish or greedy person will, a best, prevent the group from making progress.  At worse, they will take down the entire group, turning Mastermind friends into competing enemies.

Even if the person is not a whiner or a big baby, there may be a personality conflict.  They may be a great person but you find it hard to relate and work with them.  This is no reflection on you or the other person...it's just a reality.  Afterall, we're humans.

Make sure you spend some time talking and meeting with them during the course of the seminar, before you include them in your Mastermind group.  The same holds true when someone asks you to join their group...make sure it's a good fit.

Theoretically, this shouldn't be a problem.  During the course of the seminar you'll naturally gravitate to people you can relate with.  But, can they add something to the group?  Just because you really like them doesn't mean they'd be productive members of your Mastermind group.

Remember when your parents told you that "Birds of a Feather Flock Together?"  They usually were concerned about your friends when they said that.  Guess what?  It's true.

In fact, Jim Rohn says that we're the composite average of the 5 people we hang around the most.  Make sure that you surround yourself with a Mastermind group who's average is something you're striving for.  If you want to be a Millionaire...hang around with Millionaires.  If you want to be a Billionaire...hang around with Billionaires.  Make sure you understand that you have to crawl before you walk and walk before you run.  If you're an average of the 5 people you hang around with...why would the billionaire want to take themselves down by hanging around with you?

Take some time out right now and list the 5 people you hang out with.  Take a close look at these people.  What do your relationships tell you about yourself?

I'm not saying you have to dump some of these people...but you must make sure your top 5 are going to help you get what you want...what you know you deserve

You must do this in steps.  Start with a group whose average is higher than yours.  Some will be lower, some will be higher...working together the whole group should advance.  As you advance you can become part of higher level groups.  Maybe at the onset, you'll have your own Mastermind group and you'll also be on the peripheral of one or two Higher level Mastermind groups...earning your way into them.

It may seem like we got off the topic a bit here but, we really didn't.  The forming of these Mastermind relationships are one of the best reasons to attend a Live Training Seminar.  Will you form them at your first seminar and at every future seminar?  Maybe not in the formal sense but, you'll develop contacts and relationships that will help you grow in the future.  Remember, in all aspects of business...who you know can be VERY important.
